Springtime Hangover...

It's "The Monday After" and The Ladies are feeling the exact same way as the rest
of the nation..."GIVE US BACK OUR HOUR!". The 'spring forward' concept
of Daylight Savings Time always seems to do anything but what it is
intended when it comes to our internal clocks. Just like with any
other routine, the switch takes some getting used to, buuuuut there
ARE ways to prevent feeling like a "Zombieland" extra for the first
few weeks.

Beat the clock: If you haven't already grasped ahold of letting go of
that hour, try going to bed an hour early for at least the first week
to "reset" your body's timer. Also, give yourself about 15 minutes
ahead of your usual alarm time to begin to create natural wake-up
patterns instead of feeling forced or jolted awake.

Avoid napping: It can be über tempting to just give in to sleep's
call in the middle of the day, but excessive napping only leads to
more whacky imbalances. When you're feeling drained or ready to shut
down and it's barely noon, try snacking on fresh fruits & veggies for
an energy boost and even do some light stretching.

Be Body Conscious: ...Taking from the notes of the last point about napping, make sure you're doing your part to shake off those winter blues the healthy way. Create a lighter and fresher diet to keep you performing at your best and not feeling weighed down. Try incorporating at least 30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine and drink plenty of water...You know, the same good stuff they always tell you!

Embrace the day!: After being cooped up all winter, the best way to
cure cabin fever is by embracing all Spring has to offer! You'll
realize after a few weeks that the sun beaming through your blinds in
the A.M. is going to be your new wake up call for the next portion of
the year. Get out and soak up the sun by taking advantage of all the
great activities that are offered or spend time working on your
favorite warm weather hobbies! Being involved and filling up your
days will have you ready for good nights of sleep which will
eventually have you back to feeling like yourself in no time!
